New things...

23/4 - Friends, amigos and fellow adventures!  What is cracking?  I hope this finds you all amazingly well, laughing, chasing dreams and showing love to all those around you!  Fun times for everyone! This last week has been one of some more rest....some 'active' rest and taking it easier than usual none-the-less.  I have been exploring some new activities which has been super cool!  I have been for two ocean swims which has been a brand new experience.  It is a little un-nerving at times, I felt pretty vulnerable, but overall I loved the experience.  Additionally to this, I have been for two road rides and pretty sure I broke my ass on the seat of the new bike I am riding!  It is going to take some time to get used to that bad boy!  I have also been on a couple of easy runs and whilst I am still a little tired, things are almost back to normal which is great!  I have had some extra speed in the legs too which is awesome.  Some good things ahead that is for sure! This Monday coming (30/4) I kick off training again for my next adventure, the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, a new 100miler from Ipswich to Yarraman.  Its a pretty flat fast course which dosen't really suit me but should still be interesting and super fun!  Im keen as a bean.  I am also crewing my good friend Carmen at Ultraman Australia in three weekends time and can not wait for that experience.  It is going to be inspiring to see these athletes punish themselves and complete their massive goals over three days.  So, there is some pretty cool adventures ahead.Apart from the training cruise this last week, I also had the wonderful opportunity to speak on the athlete panel at the first ever Noosa Vegan Festival.  It was such an honour to share the stage with some amazing athletes, tell our stories and answer some questions from the crowd.  Whilst down there I also got a vegan tattoo and got the chance to attend a screening of a new Australian animal agriculture documentary called Dominion.  It was incredibly upsetting, eye-opening, anger inducing and life changing!  I sobbed at times, could only watch about three quarters of it but it has transformed my outlook as a vegan activist.  I believe it is a documentary that EVERYONE should have to watch.  If one chooses to eat meat, dairy, eggs or any other by-product of animals, use animals for entertainment, testing or any other form of animal exploitation, they should HAVE to watch this documentary!  Ignorance is NOT an excuse for partaking in one of the greatest atrocities humans have ever and are continuing to commit on a insurmountable level everyday.  I challenge ANY single one of you to sit through this documentary and still be able to come back to me and say what we do to animals is ok.  Stay tuned as there will be MUCH more from me about this documentary and ways you can and SHOULD watch it.This week is looking to be a bit of an easier one for me (got the snip today, doh!) so I will be taking the time to rest and get a heap of work, coaching stuff and my own programs sorted for the weeks ahead.  I hope you are all doing amazing, loving Monday and ready for another ripper week!  Big love, Peace....Sandy
