Last big one...

26/3 – Well! What a week! This has been my second biggest kilometre wise I have ever done (outside an event) and I have come away feeling amazing, in an incredible place mentally and physically, ready to rumble for Down Under 135! The week started out with a good hit out on the trails of Pine Creek, tyre drag, yoga and a big back up day Tuesday running and on the stepper. Things continued with a decent amount of k’s, compiling at the end of the week with a scheduled training weekend at the Sunny Coast. This was to be the last couple of big days before my 10day taper begins and it was EPIC!Sunday, I got started running about 15k on my own before meeting up with my friend Carmen (who is training for Ultraman 2018) to run the back half of the Ultraman marathon course. We ran strong, time went super fast and everything was super smooth. We somehow got separated from each other at around my 52km mark and after some time trying to find her, I decided It best to head back out our arranged meeting point. That's when I started to drop some BOMBS! My last 8k was at around 4:45-4:50min per/km pace and I was feeling BOSS! I ended up doing 62k for the day, feeling fresh and rounding out a 190k week! To say I was stoked is a MASSIVE understatement! Carmen also did a stella job with just under 50k after a couple weeks sick and on the comeback in her final push to UM in under 10weeks! I then backed up this morning with a 20k run with my mate Peter which felt pretty good….just a little tired! Currently, I feel the fittest, most mentally strong and ready for a race I have ever been in my life. I am SO excited to head down to Down Under Easter Monday night, to prepare to race Friday the 6th of April. This is gonna be epic! I have received my number 1 bib again and I look forward with much anticipation to gain restitution for last years debarkle. My diet, training, mental shifts and encouragement from those close to me haver been near flawless since returning to running after last year. I am heading toward a 600km March alone and I just feel amazing! I have lost over 10kg since the start of the year, feel light, powerful and ready to rock! Thank you all for your love and following my journey during my come-back to running. I am looking forward to some extra sleep during my taper, a few shorter runs and freshening up for race day! Much love friends, keep being amazing, I hope your weekend was amazing and I look forward to writing my last update next week before getting down to business! Big love.
