What a week!

24/8 - Whats up everybody?!  Hope this blog finds you all well and doing super!  Oh my gosh!  This week had EVERYTHING!  Exciting times, soul fulfilment and down right deadly occurrences.....So, the good first.  Some solid running was had this week, particularly from Saturday to Monday.  We had the weekend off and went to the Sunshine Coast to stay with our friends Tim and Lisa.  Their property backs on to Noosa National park and they run a business called Pitch Luxury Camping.  They put up this amazing teepee in their back yard for us to stay in....we were truly spoilt, it was incredible.  If your ever looking for an amazing experiential weekend away, anywhere you wanna go, this is it!  On the Saturday we trekked to Brisbane to go to The Trail Co.  Tim and his team are amazing and they truly looked after me.  I got hooked up with a heap of new gear and couldn't be happier with the whole experience, thanks guys.  Want running/adventure gear, GO THERE!Ok, back to adventures!  Whilst on the Coast I got an easy 12k in on my own then Sunday, a magical, soul filling 20k in Noosa National Park with my good mate Jason.  At times I was laughing uncontrollably and my spirit soared!  I missed these times on the trail so very much and my heart needed it badly.  So much fun.  Better yet, the injury was good so bonus there.Since coming back to Bargara I have got some more good training in also.  Yesterday I had my biggest ride ever scheduled.  I was planning on going from home to Childers, across to Gin Gin then home.  I started at 1:30am to try and beat the traffic and all kicked off well.  I got about 5k Bundy side of Gin Gin(roughly 125k in) and then.....got hit by a car!  It clipped my handlebars, flipped me round and sent me skidding on the road.  After an ambulance ride, many scans, assessments and needles, I have ended up with some decent road rash, a cast on my right arm for potential scafoid fracture, a small crack in a rib and vertebra in my neck, a broken bike and worried family.  None of the injuries are serious but it could have been way worse.  I cracked my helmet in about five places and it was in a 100k zone so what the heck!  I am thanking God he was was watching out for me!  Crazy.Today, I am actually back to the hospital to have my injury assessed by an orthopaedic specialist.  That should be interesting and well see how that goes.  I am still hoping to do GH but it will depend on today and if I can manage to run with my cast.  I am having today off though cause I feel rough!Anyway, crazy week friends!  Its good to be alive and I am so grateful for everyone who looked after me yesterday.  Much love.  Thanks for your support crew.  Miss you all.  Peace!  Mat
