Better late than never!

Well, it is the start of February and I realised this week that I haven’t put out my 2022 goals and vision for the year! I know that is usually done in January but hay, better late than never right!? So, here is what I have come up with from my Instagram post….

1000hrs of running

10,000km of running

Feb - Go Figure 50miler

March - Noosa Trail Ultra 100k

May - Crew for Ricky Taylor at Ultraman

May - Seven day 100k a day test run

June - Maybe BVRT 100miler

Sept 22 - Nov 10th - X-Country run - 100k a day for 50days

Train like a beast

Make my dream of running, speaking, adventuring and writing a career.

Be the best dad, husband, business owner I can be.

Get tattooed, drink plenty of coffee and listen to heaps of heavy mosh.

Solid year planned out and the biggest of all I have done so far!

The exciting thing this week is that it is becoming apparent that I may well be able to make this running (speaking, writing, adventuring) thing a full time job (with a bit of barista work thrown in too). I am currently in conversation with some heavy hitters that really believe in me and think I can make a proper go of all this. It is humbling, exciting in everyday and a fair bit nerve racking as well! A life long (well 15year anyway) dream with the potential and likelihood of now becoming a reality!

Further to this, I am currently in chats with a mate to get a YouTube channel going, and upping the social media content. The team that is being built day by day at the moment is filled with beautiful, smart and incredible humans. It is pretty mind blowing to be honest!

This next couple weeks is going to be pretty telling to see what happens going forward. If the conversations I have had go ahead, I could be taking a step back from the shop to focus on sleep, training, rehab, strength and conditioning and logistics to build not only the X-Country run but the next 10years. Amazing.

All this aside, Sunday I have my first race since mid last year! The Go Figure 50miler. I am super excited to get amongst it and also have a weekend away with Tegs without the kids (thanks mum and dad). Its been a minute coming. This is the next step in this journey and I can’t wait to race and spend some time on the trails.

I hope this finds you all well friends. Thanks for following, share the love and get ya mates on the X-Country train that is coming soon and fast! Consistency + Commitment. Mat
