Catch up
The last couple weeks have been super interesting. I have slacked on my blog, training has been very low and casual, Ive been working a heap and I have generally got caught up in life. I got man flue, did a super cool podcast and blog interview, did a keynote at an end of year function and it turns out, running two businesses takes some work. This is not an excuse for neglecting the aforementioned, but more a ‘sorry Ive been AWOL’ the last fortnight.
Shortly after finishing the 50days, I felt pretty good after about three or four days. No worries mate. Well, maybe physically, maybe, but possibly the hype of it all remaining for a minute made me feel a little better than I actually was. My immune system was obviously down (thus getting sick with man flue and narrowly missing ICU or imminent death) and I have had a few fits and starts getting going with training again. A few mornings I just have had no mojo. To be fair though, I have also had a couple days where I have run really well….but overall, Ive not had my super crush everything everyday attitude I normally do.
And that’s ok.
I need to remind myself that what I achieved in the 50days was massive. I underestimate it ALL the time. As it is only the verse to the main chorus next year, it's all too easy to pass it off as a ‘warm up’. I need to not be trite. I need to appreciate the 50days as being something massive and understand that my body needs to take some recovery. I have earned it.
However, enough is enough. Today is one month since I finished the couple month venture and it is time to get back to work. Training calls, races are fast approaching and the run across the country is LESS THAN 10months away. Crazy! I am both super excited and petrified at the same time but I do know one thing. I don’t have a lot of time and I have a lot of things to do to get ready for the madness ahead.
All in all though, its a nice time of year. School rounds out today and my eldest, Pria is graduating primary school. Crazy! Ol mate is going into year 4 next year and school holidays will be kicking off tomorrow. Then shops are going well, life in general is great and it's time to charge on with the rest of 2021 and into next year. Beautiful.
Anyways, this is just a quick catch up, hello y'all, hope life is good and sending you much love. Stay safe, enjoy the start of the holidays and I’ll write again soon. Consistency + Commitment
